Every now and then, it becomes dead in this group, lol. But then again everyone
is outside moderating and such. I remember once that there were no posts for
about 6 weeks before a new post came in.
As a reminder, continue to post gallery items that you think should be featured
in the gallery. Select from wallpapers, scans, or even doujinshi. I'll post them
up in the gallery as soon as we have enough candidates.
By the way, if you feel you're up to it, check out a board that will soon be
going global - Limerock Cafe
Speaking of heat, it was like 100 degrees fahrenheit for a few days here. It was
unbelievably hot, and we had a heat wave. Hot weather just makes me stay
indoors.
By the way, members, post recommendations for wallpapers that you think should
be featured in the gallery. I will judge what will be featured based on the
amount of effort and quality placed into the work of art. Also, please recommend
some good scans that we could add to the gallery.
lovecards, group moderators for this group have the ability to start and host
any kind of competition that members could agree with. A banner competition is a
splendid idea and I promote that 100%.
Since sandumirabela is also fairly active in this group, I'll also appoint her a
moderator for the group. Man I'm so inactive on MT, lol. By the way, I'm always
available for chat on messenger.
I need one of the moderators to change my status to administrator since I am the
founder of this group. This change is necessary in the event I need to overhaul
the group again.
I'm going to overhaul the staff of this group to accomodate those who seem to be
currently most active. KaoriHime seems to be the most active and therefore will
become a moderator. Also, Jotfif and Tias whenever they are around will
moderate. If the most recent members are active, this group may very well be
resurrected. Good luck with any changes, moderators.
Quote by shinsengumiYou're still a
moderator of this group, because regardless of how people may feel about you, in
the past you did quite a lot in the forums to help the community. That a member
does not have a colored or italicized title does not mean that they have not
worked to improved it; there are quite a large number of members who are not
Elite Members or Moderators who have poured sweat, blood, and tears into this
community to bring it to where it is today, and you're certainly among
them.
I'm much obliged. ^_^ Though my present duties have led
me astray from Minitokyo, I find time to return for a little bit to make
reports. Classes and social activities tend to keep me away from the internet
until the weekends. However, lately, I've been so concentrated on the production
of my RPG game that I usually don't do anything else, and my game is going quite
well. Lastly, the nor'easter snowstorm brought me an extra day of being at home,
so I practically only have 3 days of classes this week. I can't wait until my
vacation in March!
I believe that with the idea of "pseudo-moderators" comes favoritism
which is something I do not support in a community. Favoritism either destroys
or enhances ones chances to become something. About a year ago, I fell victim to
some of the things that other members brought up, such as being the worst member
for trying to make something good out of myself. With admitting I was at fault
for my reaction, which takes the word back to shinsengumi's quote in his
signature, I had a fairly downhill track from there. Repenting seemed useless
from that point on, so that's why I am still the way I am today. From time to
time, I do find things that do not belong, and I make use of my fluency to help
others out. I still wonder why I'm a moderator of this group if the majority of
the moderators here are elites and moderators of MT.
If I recall, Vinght777 was warned once before for being insubordinate about his
gallery submissions. If he continues this, he will eventually be banned.
It seems the moderators of MT are generally the admins of this group with the
exception of one. Neat promotions.
The policy questionnaire isn't so much of a bad idea, and it's a unique
implementation too. However, I believe that there are better things we could do
that won't lead the general audience astray. Making the information about the
threads and the submissions more available to the members should be priority.
For example, when in the process of making a submission, information about
making submissions should be on that exact page.
http://gallery.minitokyo.net/submit/wallpaper/
- This is where I think the information would be stored the best; the only thing
that is outlined there is information on how to submit the gallery items, not
any of the restrictions.
The same could apply while in the process of creating a thread. To that end,
there should almost be no way thet information is overlooked and that would also
help the members think about how they will make their presentations. How does
this sound?
I have also voiced my opinion on numerous circumstances throughout Minitokyo.
Consider it criticism if you will, namely for the moderation efforts. I
certainly hope we embrace this as a lesson to improve our morals.
Good to see you around a little bit, Aa-chan. How's everything going with
Chaos-Cross? I myself have been not busy but rather infrequent for reasons of my
own (heh, I know, you've heard it before, so I think I'll really keep to myself
).
I begin my classes next week, and I will not have time to come online as all of
my classes occupy the afternoon hours.
Quote by SoulScholarDownload quota
has actually somewhat helped. Alot of people made useless threads just to get
credits. However, with the download quota, there will be less threads made,
mainly because not many people are going to download 30 + stuff a day. But ya,
both of those should be removed, and the lvl system should be back
up...
Even though the level system was biased, at least
better discussion took place. After level 10, people didn't have to struggle to
download scans or wallpapers, so they were able to relax and think about the
discussions they were going to start. The biggest drawback to the credit system
as I know it is that people will do anything to get credits to download
wallpapers or scans. Part of doing anything to get the credits is creating
pointless threads or even uploading scans or wallpapers that don't belong. The
credits system has given way to a bit of a decline in morality for the members,
and that is something I intend to avoid.
Well, people these days are usually too lazy to even ask for help. I don't blame
them for trying to get out of their own problems at all, but a little help once
in a while wouldn't hurt. We should put this group out a little more so we could
get others the help they deserve. I too doubt we could do that. Someone could
help out with this attempt.
I do not mean to sound hypocritical, but I really believe that most of the
threads that are active today entail absolutely no discussion and are pretty
dumb, even some of the ones in the City Hall forum. I cannot find myself
participating in new and age-old threads that potentially bear the same goals
over and over again which is why I have restricted myself from posting. Lately,
I have been taking my business towards the gallery and searching for rips there
which seems to be a good diversion from the rather pointless and utterly
circular chatter that goes on in the forums. Though this cannot really be
changed because the site grew rapidly and the development of the site seemed
somewhat extemporaneous, we can only do but so much to keep the community
stabilized.
Quote by SoulScholarWe need a rule,
or if we have one, we have to enforce it more, but ummm ALOT of the threads on
the indepth discussions are kind of not so indepth
Threads like that should be mass moved via the moderator's
control panel and considered less serious topics. Unfortunately, there are not
too many topics that are indepth with respect to anime, and I feel that the
forum index description of the indepth discussions forum should be supplemented
with more information about the goal. Moreover, constant maintenance of the
forum may be bad for the members since many of them may complain about their
removed posts if they return to check the progress of the thread. I do not know
what will be implemented, but something should be done about these imprecisions.
Quote by akeedacresthey, merry
christmas to all.. just wondering, i was browsing through te gallery and saw
that this FF-X2 Paine by
Zechs was misplaced into FF12's gallery instead of FF10-2. Well, does this
concern us? anyway, just for the notice.. Haha! Merry Christmas everyone and
have a blessed day!
It's of concern. Just report the gallery item so it could
be moved into the correct category. Remember, Chaos Cross is a group dedicated
to helping keep Minitokyo organized and enforcing improvements. ^_^
Guess who? lol, I make yet a spontaneous appearance to the fleet once again.
Wow, it's been months since I posted here.
